Creating a Sun on Earth

While being over 4 billion years old, our Sun is still bright and shiny. If everything goes well, it will be for some billion years to come. The sun produces its unbelievable amount of energy by nuclear fusion. A process in which atomic nuclei fuse and create a heavier nucleus and hence a heavier atom. In the Sun, the nuclei of Hydrogen atoms fuse and create a Helium atom, accompanied by the release of an enormous amount of energy. Scientists in the US and France are trying to use nuclear fusion as an energy source. Now British scientists are going to build another prototype reactor.
