Our life expectancy is increasing, and some claim that the world’s first 200-year-old person has already been born. But we don’t just want to live long – we also want to maintain our health, and have a high quality of life. As the ageing population rapidly becomes one of our biggest challenges, research on ageing grows into a hot and important field. Some 200 students from Sweden and Denmark came to Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, to hear some of the leading experts in the field.
